The Saturday Seven 12/29/12

1. Mood: Sick :( 'Tis the season for germs. Boo!
2. Substitute question: Any product(s) you regret buying recently? I purchased the Remington T-Studio Ceramic Pearl hot rollers over the summer and they are just horrible. They worked fine the first month but became progressively less effective. I plan to film my December Hit List & Sh*t List for my channel with more products I regret buying. So keep an eye out for that!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Marc Jacobs Dot perfume. I went to Ulta last weekend and ended up purchasing Reb'l Fleur instead but I know my hubby perferred Dot. I like them both and Marc Jacobs scents are some of my favs!
4. Most used product of the week: Carmex. The cold weather and being sick are totally drying out my lips!
5. Scent of the week: Girlfriend by Justin Bieber
6. Favorite song of the moment: I'm a little stumped on this question at the moment because I'm just so happy they stopped playing Christmas music 24/7! I don't mind some songs but it gets annoying when it's ALL the stations play. So my favorite song of the moment is Freedom by Nicki Minaj. I like how she is unapologetic for who she is and is comfortable with being exactly who she is. *Warning-This is the uncensored version of the song. Please cover your ears if cursing offends you or look up the censored version. :)

7. A sprinkle of randomness: We have been dog sitting for the past week and it has been fun but I think my canine brother has had enough. He is used to being the only dog of the house and now he has to share a house with my two pups. I think he'll be happy to go home in a few more days!

The Saturday Seven 12/1/12

1. Mood: Determined...I have A LOT of things to get done this weekend and I'm trying to stay positive and tell myself everything will get done. Plus I need to mend my broken relationship with my elliptical. Lol! We're starting to meet again on a regular basis.
2. Substitute question: What is your favorite breakfast food? During the week, I rarely eat breakfast but when I do, it's a Greek yogurt. I have coffee everyday without fail. So I guess it would be coffee??? My favorite special breakfast would either be an omelette with lots of veggies or the french toast from The Cheesecake Factory. Yum!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: I have an obsession with foundation and have been wanting to try Mac's Full Coverage Foundation. I've heard mixed reviews about it though and worry about it causing breakouts. I really wish Kat Von D's Lock-It Tattoo Foundation worked for me and didn't cause such horrible skin issues. I also am interested in the UD's Naked Basics palette.
4. Most used product of the week: MK Timewise Oil-Free Moisturizer...LOVE that stuff!
5. Scent of the week: Girlfriend by Justin Bieber
6. Favorite song of the moment: Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris Featuring Florence Welch...She has such a beautifully haunting voice...amazing! *Just a warning, the video may be considered a little graphic/disturbing to some.

7. A sprinkle of randomness: The sky is looking gray and still here which makes me think of snow. Oh geez! I am not ready for snow! I'm not a fan of it, hate traveling in it and certainly hate shoveling it. Lol! I do enjoy dressing for the colder weather with heavier coats, gloves, scarves and hats. There's a plus side to almost everything!

The Saturday Seven 11/24/12

1. Mood: Overwhelmed and anxious...I am working on a new organization project which involves a lot of weeding out and moving things around. Plus I am changing my clothes over to winter season stuff and I started holiday shopping yesterday. So the house is looking a little crazy but I know in the end, everything will come together and work out. 
2. Substitute question: Shop online or in stores? I would much rather shop online and avoid the crazy ass crowds but I absolutely hate paying shipping fees. I always keep an eye out for free shipping promos and coupon codes. Just trying to be economical! :)
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: A black skull scarf. They seem to be quite popular but I can't find one anywhere. I may have to bite the bullet and order one online or just skip the trend altogether. It's so cute though! Such a dilemma!
4. Most used product of the week: Carmex. This is a regular in my morning routine to prep my lips for the day. I absolutely love it and it's affordable.
5. Scent of the week: The One by D&G
6. Favorite song of the moment: Ho Hey by The Lumineers...Oh just sing along! You know you want to! :)

7. A sprinkle of randomness: I'm waiting to wash the dye out of my hair as I'm typing this. I am trying to go a little more red again. I always go back and forth between red, dark brown and black. I'm just hoping it covers my grays!!! LOL

The Saturday Seven 11/17/12

1. Mood: Lazy...I am in recovery mode from the week and from going out last night. I have a million zillion things to do today. So this laziness will have to be short lived unfortunately.
2. Substitute question: Current obsession(s): I have been obsessed with makeup storage and organization ideas/products lately. I've been watching a lot of organization videos on YouTube and got a little inspiration. I just wish I had more time and money for some of the projects I would like to complete.
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Some new hoodies and acrylic drawers from The Container Store...how random?! My uniform for life (when I'm not working) is pretty much jeans and hoodies. Lately I feel like I have the same hoodies in rotation and it's getting a bit stale, considering they're not a very exciting "fashion" choice to begin with. As for the acrylic stores, it goes along with my organization obsession. I wish there was a Container Store closer to where I live because the shipping is a bit much. I'll check back around Black Friday/Cyber Monday to see if they're running any sales.
4. Most used product of the week: Ok, I just noticed #4 has been missing from my posts for weeks! Hello brain?!?!?! I promise you that I CAN count. My most used product of the week would be Benefit's Stay Don't Stray eye primer.
5. Scent of the week: Gold by Kim Kardashian
6. Favorite song of the moment: Don't You Worry Child-Swedish House Mafia

7. A sprinkle of randomness: It's going to be a busy weekend! I always feel like I blink and the weekend is gone. We went out with some friends last night and are meeting up with some more friends tonight. Then my family is celebrating my dad's birthday tomorrow. Inbetween all of the fun stuff, we have to get all of the weekend chores and errands done. We'll see what happens!

The Saturday Seven 11/3/12

1. Mood: Exhausted. This week was definitely a difficult one. I live on the East Coast and on Monday, we were hit by Storm Sandy. I am thankful that my family and friends are safe and that they did not suffer any major loss or damage. We did lose power for a fews days but luckily, it has been restored. My heart goes out to those who lost their homes, businesses and loved ones. They are in my thoughts. I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the emergency personnel, LIPA technicians and employees of businesses that are sacrificing time with their families to help others. I truly believe that we will recover and rebuild.

3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: At this time, it feels strange to be thinking of material things. So I would like to add relief to those who are suffering in the aftermath of Sandy to my wish list this week.
5. Scent of the week: Gold by Kim Kardashian...I did wear a fragrance and makeup this week because I did go to work. So I felt ok about answering this question.
6. Favorite song of the moment: 93 Million Miles by Jason Mraz

7. A sprinkle of randomness: After much internal struggle, I attempted to film my October Favorites video today. The timing, for me, did not feel comfortable and it was a fail. I will try again soon but I hope people will understand.

The Saturday Seven 10/27/12

1. Mood: Drained. Like most people, I have a lot going on in almost every aspect of my life right now and I feel emotionally, mentally and physically drained. But life goes on and I just have to keep going.
2. Substitute Question: Favorite tv show? I don't have one specific favorite. I DVR a lot of shows like CSI, NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, The Walking Dead, The Mentalist, Animal Practice...and watch them when I have some free time or when I'm cleaning/doing laundry.
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Any type of storage containers for makeup like small baskets, brush holders, cubes etc. I like the acrylic drawers that everyone talks about but they're not super practical for me. So I'll be on the lookout for some of those products during my trip to Target later. :)
5. Scent of the week: Kim Kardashian Gold
6. Favorite song of the moment: Invincible-MGK  

7. A sprinkle of randomness: I was catching up on YT videos this morning and watched the first two videos of pinksofoxy's Less Stuff, Less Stress! series which inspired me to start decluttering some of my makeup storage. Yikes! What a project! I definitely need to work on better organizing everything. One more thing to add to this weekend's list of things to do!

The Saturday Seven 10/20/12

1. Mood: Aggravated...There is always too much to do and not enough time. My weekends have been flying by and the work weeks have been stressful. I was thinking about how much time and energy I put into work but how little time and energy I have left for my family/friends. It's so sad.
2. Substitute Question: What would you do with a million dollars? I would put half away into a savings account. Then I would use the remaining money for a bigger house and a new car. Hey, one can dream! :)
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: This is nothing fancy but I need bobby pins. I go through them like it's nobody's business! I was also scouting out some fragrances in Sephora the other night and really like Too Too Pretty by Betsey Johnson and Boyfriend. I've been really obsessed with powders lately too. I would love to get the full size of Benefit's Hello Flawless!.
5. Scent of the week: Dior Eau Sensuelle   I have been using the sample from the Dior Beauty Insider Reward.
6. Favorite song of the moment: Don't Wake Me Up by Chris Brown   I like the upbeat dance feel of the song. Plus who isn't in awe of his comeback?! Kinda crazy...

7. A sprinkle of randomness: I have a cold but am trying not to "waste" the whole day resting. I hope to film a tag video today too! But for now, I'm watching the Pioneer Woman on Food Network.

The Saturday Seven 10/13/12

1. Mood: I would say okay. My mood is okay. Lol! I have a lot to get done but nothing's been accomplished and I'm okay with that. I'm freezing at the moment and I'm okay. It's the weekend and I'm hella okay with that! ;)
2. Substitute Question: What is one thing I wish I could change about my hair? Only one? I wish my hair was easier to color. I have black hair which is almost impossible to color anything other than some shade of black. I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was dye my hair...strange. I used a semi-permanent color hoping for reddish highlights and gray coverage. After twenty minutes, even though the box said not to exceed fifteen, I was left with a stained red scalp and black hair. I guess we always want what we can't have!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush set from Sephora, a YSL eyeliner and the Lorac 3D Liquid Lustre. All of these are on my list for the Sephora Friends and Family sale which I am patiently waiting for.
5. Scent of the week: Girlfriend by Justin Bieber
6. Favorite song of the moment: Beauty And A Beat by Justin Bieber ft. Nicki Minaj   This song is so fun and catchy! Don't hate! I know you want to sing along!

7. A sprinkle of randomness: I just filmed and am uploading a YouTube video! Yay!!! It's been WAY too long. Check it out! :)

The Saturday Seven 10/6/12

1. Mood: Optimistic. Say what?! Yes, I know, very strange for me to feel optimistic but I am hoping to have a fun, destressing weekend. So therefore, my answer is optimistic. Lol!
2. One good thing from the week: My response is almost always the same and that would be that it is over! Maybe I should think of a substitute question for this one...
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Too Too Pretty by Betsey Johnson...I've been into new fragrances recently. I guess it's time for a change. Also, any of the blushes, lipsticks and the beauty powder from the MAC Marilyn Monroe collection. This collection sold out when it launched online and all of the products I was hoping to purchase were sold out in stores as well. Grrrrrr!!! That's how they get us!
5. Scent of the week: Girlfriend by Justin Bieber Say what again?! It's a really pretty fragrance that is affordable. So I decided to redeem a Sephora gift card and purchase it. Plus the packaging  is fabulous! 

6. Favorite song of the moment: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift   It's a catchy little tune that gets embedded in my brain cells every single time I hear it. I really like the positive message for girls. If this song came out 15 years ago, I would have probably declared it my personal anthem. In the video, Taylor's band is wearing these funky animal costumes...I'm trying to devise a plan to coerce a certain friend of mine to wear one of those. Lol!!!

7. A sprinkle of randomness: To shop or not to shop? That is the question. I am debating whether or not to run up to the mall this morning for some power shopping. I should really quit procrastinating and get important things done. We'll see what happens!

The Saturday Seven 9/29/12

1. Mood: Overwhelmed and slightly crazed...too many things are flying around in my brain right now and as easy as it is for people to tell me to give my brain a rest, it never works.
2. One good thing from the week: It seemed to go by fairly quick for a work week. I am glad that it's over and the weekend is here! :)
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: I was able to get my hands on the OCC Lip Tars in store but I am patiently waiting for Ophelia to be restocked on Sephora's website. I also would like to get some fall clothes to transition into the cooler/colder months. I'm feeling like my "wardrobe" is in need of some major sprucing up!
5. Scent of the week: I switched it up this week between B&BW Charmed Life and D&G The One.
6. Favorite song of the moment: Settle Down by No Doubt   Back in the day, I saw them in concert which was absolutely amazing! I cut up a wife beater, pasted on a bindi, put on some red lipstick and sparkly pants...that was quite a while ago. I have definitely grown up a bit (a little bit...hehe) as must people do but great memories grow with you. I have loved their music for many, many years and I am so exciting they are back! 

7. A sprinkle of randomness: It's gloomy outside and my pups are still sleeping. During the week, I feel like if I had the chance, I could sleep until 9 am but then the weekend rolls around and I'm wide awake by 7 am. Oh well!

1. Mood: Lazy.
2. One good thing from the week: I went out with my hubby and our good friends last night for 2fers. Love me some food, good beer and great friends! Hi Frank!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Lip Tars from OCC. I heard about the Sephora launch at the beginning of the week and was looking at the colors online but can't quite decide which ones to get. They are offered in a few Sephora stores as well, one happens to be within driving distance of where I live. So I'm thinking of making the trip there to see the colors in person.
5. Scent of the week: Charmed Life from B&BW
6. Favorite song of the moment: My Moment-DJ Drama ft. 2 Chainz, Mill Meek, Jeremih I love this song! Even if you're not a fan of rap/hip hop, I think everyone can relate to the message. I hear this a lot when I am driving home from work and most of the time, I've had days that can test my last nerve. So I try to remind myself that my moment will come eventually...whatever/whenever that may be.

7. A sprinkle of randomness: I am making a grocery/Target shopping list. I always feel like I forget things though. Then when I go to Target, I always end up buying more than is on my list. Target gets me every single time!

The Saturday Seven 9/15/12

1. Mood: Blah...it was a crappy week but I am glad it's finally over. I have SO much to get done but I am just feeling like not doing anything. Ugh.
2. One good thing from the week: It's finally over!!! That seems to be my common answer here. LOL
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: The Urban Decay Vice palette. I read Karen's (makeupandbeautyblog.com) blog post about this palette late last night and made a plan to save for it. My plan was to be able to purchase it as soon as it was released. Urban Decay's limited edition products tend to sell out insanely quick! I woke up this morning to an email from Urban Decay for the release of the Vice palette! Ahhhh!!! There goes my plan! I guess I will keep my fingers crossed that it won't sell out for another few weeks.
5. Scent of the week: Lola by Marc Jacobs
6. Favorite song of the moment: Celebration by The Game...This song samples a classic Bone Thugs song, 1st of the Month, and gives it a more updated sound. 
7. A sprinkle of randomness: I'm drinking my morning coffee as I write this post. I love coffee! If I could always drink coffee, every minute of every day, I definitely would. My favorite Starbucks drink (what I call a foofy coffee drink) would have to be the caramel macchiato. So good!!!

The Saturday Seven 9/8/12

1. Mood: Determined. I have a lot to do today including cleaning my house, laundry, exercising and hopefully filming a YT video. I have determined to get everything done despite going out last night and not feeling 100%.
2. One good thing from the week: It was only 4 days and it's over! Woohoo weekend!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: The Lorac Pro Palette. It has a mix of shimmer and matte shadows in a variety of shades. I think I would be able to create a lot of different looks with this palette making it worth the $42. But do I really need more eyeshadows?! Lol
5. Scent of the week: I mixed it up this week and used a different perfume from my collection each day. Sometimes I stick with one scent for the whole week and other times I'm all over the place. I guess it depends on my mood.
6. Favorite song of the moment: An oldie but a goodie...Public Service Announcement by Jay-Z. The XM radio in my car stopped working on Thursday and I reorganized my iPod for my commute on Friday with a mix (new and old) of hip hop/rap etc. 
7. A sprinkle of randomness: Lipton's double noodle soup is the best cure for a hangover. Lots of water too!

The Very Late Saturday Seven 9/4/12

I apologize for posting this so late! I totally lost track of time with the three day weekend and all of the happenings going on. The next Saturday Seven will be on time, promise!

1. Mood: Annoyed...with myself. Lol! I got a little lazy and took a break from my exercise routine for a week. I just got back on track and I am so mad at myself for taking that little break...stupid me! Well I guess I can't go back in time (even though that would be pretty cool) and I can only go forward. So I'm sticking with it from now on!
2. One good thing from the week: I saw Jason Mraz in concert on Saturday. It was such a great show!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Some new fall clothing and accessories. I am sad to see the summer go because that means colder weather and my tattoos will be making less of an appearance. :( I am always on the lookout for season appropriate clothing that will showcase my tattoos as well. I also am looking for some new funky rings!
4. Most used product of the week: Milani Multi-tasker Face Powder in Medium
5. Scent of the week: The One by Dolce & Gabbana
6. Favorite song of the moment: Living in the Moment by Jason Mraz..There is no official video for the song yet. So I found a live version which seems like it was filmed in a smaller venue. In my opinion, smaller venues are definitely the place to see Jason. He plays incredible shows in more intimate settings. Anyway, take a listen and live in the moment!!! :)

7. A sprinkle of randomness: The weather here has been crazy! It rains and storms then clears up and becomes super humid. My hair and makeup can't take it anymore! Lol. I'm looking forward to fall weather.

The Saturday Seven 8/25/12

1. Mood: Grateful. I am so lucky to have such wonderful people (& pets) in my life. I am also feeling grateful for everything that I have even though some may think it's not a lot (& at times, it can feel like not that much). I know it's always easier said than done but we should try to appreciate what we have instead of concentrating on what we don't have. Did I really just write that?! Whoa! :)
2. One good thing from the week: It's the weekend! Thank goodness!!!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: Today I will begin my search for the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow (limited edition) in Barely Beige. It looks like a pretty base for other shadows or a beautiful color by itself. From the pictures I have seen online, it looks like there are only a few of each color included on the new displays and Barely Beige is the most neutral which will probably hinder my chances of getting it. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will actually find it!
4. Most used product of the week: Benefit 'Hello Flawless!' Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation in 'I'm So Money' Honey-My skin is finally on the way back to normal after my allergic reaction to the Kat Von D foundation. I'm so excited to be able to wear a full face of makeup again!
5. Scent of the week: Tainted Love by TOKYOMILK/DARK (notes include: dark vanilla bean, orchid, white tea & sandalwood)
6. Favorite song of the moment: Lost by Frank Ocean...It has a real retro sound & it gets stuck in your brain. Just real catchy!
7. A sprinkle of randomness: I spend way too much time online "window shopping" but I just tell myself it's research. :)

The Saturday Seven 8/18/12

1. Mood: Blah...It is cloudy & overcast today. I also woke up with a headache. Not a good start to the weekend but I'm hoping it will get better! :)
2. One good thing from the week: I had three days off from work this week which was a nice little break. 
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: I am still wanting an affordable curling iron to style my new haircut. I have been eyeing the Hot Tools 1 1/4" from Ulta. I also have been trying matte shadows since the hives on my face (from the foundation) are accentuated by shimmery shadows. I would love to get the Too Faced matte shadow set. 
4. Most used product of the week: The original UD Naked palette. I had an allergic reaction to a new foundation & was unable to wear much makeup this week. :0/
5. Scent of the week: Bath & Body Works Charmed Life
6. Favorite song of the moment: Some Nights by Fun. You just can't help but sing along!

7. A sprinkle of randomness: My pups are so sleepy this morning. Our little family usually gets an early start (6 am) but this morning everyone slept until 8:30!

Dupe Alert: UD's Verve

By far my favorite shadow from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette is Verve (4th from the right). It is a beautiful, shimmery light taupe shade. I use it for a variety of different looks from work appropriate day looks to going out/evening looks. I used it the other day and saw a noticeable dip in the shadow but I have no worries about hitting pan on this shadow. I have found a fabulous, affordable dupe for Verve.

The Saturday Seven 8/11/12

1. Mood: Motivated. I started planning on reorganizing my closet and the office in our house. I also want to go through my makeup collection and clothing to weed out things I don't use/need (which I will hand down to my cousins or donate). Plus I want to film a bunch of new YT videos. We'll see what happens! 
2. One good thing from the week: It's over! 
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: I changed my hair a little bit to a center part and have found that curling it (slightly) looks pretty. I have been using hot rollers which are somewhat time consuming...not too bad but during the week, time is always limited in the morning. So I am looking for an affordable, good quality 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" curling iron and jumbo velcro rollers. 
4. Most used product of the week: Sephora eye primer
5. Scent of the week: Victoria's Secret Bombshell body mist
6. Favorite song of the moment: New Day by Alicia Keys

7. A sprinkle of randomness: My hubby and I are going to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday tonight. I have to figure out what to wear! Maybe I will film an OOTN...

The (Late) Saturday Seven 8/5/12

1. Mood: Still overwhelmed. Never enough time in a day!
2. One good thing from the week: Hubby and I had a date night on Friday. We went to a restaurant that we haven't been to in a while and had a lovely dinner.

4. Most used product of the week: L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara...I purchased this a few months ago in a set with an eyeliner but never used it until now. It's definitely not my favorite mascara (and removing it is a chore) but I am trying to get through it before opening a new one.
5. Scent of the week: Kim Kardashian Gold...don't hate! Lol. It smells yummy!
6. Favorite song of the moment: Heart Attack by Trey Songz
7. A sprinkle of randomness: I spent yesterday hanging out with my mom and my brother joined us for lunch. It's nice to have family time! :)

The Saturday Seven 7/28/12

Hi again! When I originally started my blog, my goal was to post the "Sunday Seven" every Sunday (obviously). Well unfortunately that was short lived. In my attempt to commit myself to blogging again, I am bringing back the "Sunday Seven" as the "Saturday Seven." Essentially, it's the same thing just posted on a different day. Also, the questions may be somewhat varied from the original because frankly, I just can't remember the exact questions. Yikes! So now presenting...the Saturday Seven:


1. Mood: Slightly overwhelmed...Lately, I have been feeling like I just have way too much to get done and not nearly enough time. 
2. One good thing from the week: I got another tattoo this week. Depending on who is reading this, it may not be considered a "good thing" but to me it is! Check out my July Favorites on YouTube for a looky look!
3. Product(s) I'm adding to my wish list: I have been wanting to try the new Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo foundation. I also discovered the brand TOKYOMILK DARK on Sephora's website and would love to try out one of the fragrances from the line. The packaging is to die for!

5. Scent of the week: Marc Jacobs Lola
6. Favorite song of the moment: "Work Hard Play Hard" - Wiz Khalifa   
When I'm driving home from work, I also hope to hear it and I'm actually listening to it right now.
7. A sprinkle of randomness: It's storming here and my pups are a little scared. They're curled up next to me and slowing starting to fall asleep. :)
